The article describes a clock developed from an electronic conference badge (which was introduced here). I could make an Internet connected NTP clock that shows time on an epaper screen.
The next video shows the clock in action. You can see that the epaper display cannot quickly erase a number and write a new one, and it takes some second before old numbers are fully wiped.
